Jack Black is a film maker who takes a film crew to a remote island where they come across a giant gorilla that protects Naomi Watts. After a battle with dinosaurs they capture it and take it back to New York where it causes chaos. Remake that is definitely not as good as the 1933 B/W version, but could have been. With some significant editing to bring this down from 3 hours to 2 hours this would have been a good film. Many scenes start well but most are overly long in ways that are unnecessary and some scenes are just dreadful, like the scene where the dinosaurs all pile up on top of each other and then battle with King Kong in mid air suspended by tree creepers. This has too much CGI at the expense of plot and character.
